Saw it finally last night, just needed some light entertainment as a pick me up, wasn't as bad as I was expecting, but still fairly crap, the whole Andre Braugher character/Reed interaction was just too forced and unnecessary, there was little point considering Von Doom showed up again, and though I'm not a comic book fan, I didn't see much reach for Von Doom to be in this at all. There was a big enough threat from Galactus to make me care about Von Doom. And the Silver Surfer angle was just retarded, they blew any chance to make a great use of the background of is character, for him to just up and turn on Galactus and destroy him, stupid, wasteful movie. And I would've liked to have seen Galactus: Giant Purple Pimp to be honest. So Silver Surfer parts were good but there wasso much opportunity to make better use of his character, Chris Evans is the only one who actually maintains an interesting character out of the main four. Good SFX. But shit story, wasted script and characters, I'd give it a very low Rental bordering on Some Ole' Bullshit.

I saw this at a double feature at the drive-Thru movies and this movie was short! I mean really short! so short I forgot I even saw it. I didn't understand anything but the fact that the world was gonna be destroyed. At one point and I don't know how this argument started but me and my older sisters started arguing over what the bomb that destroyed Japan was which shows that this movie didn't hold our attention too much.

many of my problems with this film are concerned with the fact that it's not much better than the first. The characters (namely, the general) are stupid, they lay on the whole Reed and Sue thing way too thick. And, why don't they make doom an actual threat? Thing looks like a turd. The only good actor in it is Chickliss. Jokes are unfunny. the switching powers thing was lame and corney. I'm glad they didn't make galactus a robot. kids might like it. Jessica Alba is hot. the surfer was very cool. A lot of people say he didn't have enough lines, I think that is just fine. CG was also good. RENTAL

My dad and brother love the "Hornblower" English t.v. series (with Ioan) about life on wooden sailing ships. I'm torn about this movie though, on one hand it is great that he is getting international exposure but on the other I feel that some of his recent projects have fallen short (i.e. "The T.V. Set"). I hope that things will get better for his career though.

I liked the Silver Surfer and not much else in this film. Mr Fantastic and Invisible Woman were so self-obbessed, the Torch was on Planet Cheese (as always) and don't get me started on the Thing. The only good bit about renting the DVD is that it is hinted that a Silver Surfer movie might come out. Now that I'd see!

I agree with Korea 100 percent! I love the Silver Surfer in this movie, and if it wasn't for him... I would of hated the movie just as much as the first Fantastic 4 movie.

Another DVD for me and I'm glad I didn't pay full price for this one. You are right it was absolute "Bullshit". The less creative control the parent studios have over these Marvel films the better. I believe that Marvel Studios should definately break away to complete independence in the coming years as they continue to get more and more things right. The "Thing" would work better as a computer graphic (because they can pull it off nowadays). In tis movie he looks like a guy in a bad costume. A costume that might be cool at a halloween party but not elsewhere. I agree it may be a nice family flick but hard core comic fans should stay away.

(75%) This movie has a few disappointments, but on the other hand, it has a lot of things going for. It stays true to the first movie, with a somewhat interesting story. But that story just sets you up for a fall as the Surfer gets seriously wtf pwned hard. I see it as more of a comedy/family/kid movie like the first movie, which is good because thats what the first movie was. It all comes down to whether or not you liked the first movie, and are a fan of comic book movies. I liked this movie, I'm not writing a "bad" review, I'm just saying it isn't as great as I thought it'd be. I could go into a lot of other details behind my 2 points, but you get it I'm sure.

I must say I was disappointed with the way they represented the Silver Surfer and Galactus. Back in around the year 2000 I think. They came out with comic that posted the 10 most powerful Super heroes in both Marvel and DC comics and the Silver surfer was 1st and beat out Superman who came in 2nd. I think they did portray the Fantastic 4 properly because they are a bunch dumb asses. I went to see this for the Silver Surfer and not the F-4.

Another Magi FYI moment. The Surfer (Norrin Radd) was a normal if bald being on his home world when Galactis shows up. He reasons with Galactis to find him less developed world and save his. Galactis gave him powers to assist him and that silver coating to protect him in space. That be da reason no peepee, and why the Surfer is so depressed all the time, he is eternal cut off from his lover and his people...alone forever.
