I actually enjoyed this movie. The characters are very realistic (aside from some of the dialogue). And it is to see some parents that show support and love when their teenage daughter gets pregnant. Any parent that kicks their pregnant daughter out on the streets should be shot in the face! Oh, and it's nice to see J.K Simmons play a sweet, kind-hearted man for a change. (J.Jonah Jameson, what a dickhead)

agree with Wilson. I thought this movie was overrated and just a huge mess of crappy pseudo witty dialogue and horrible one liners delivered by an actress who’s acting ability is considered average at best. This movie does NOTHING to show case any REAL talent and the fact it was nominated is just criminal. The writing was horrible, it was just a bunch of catchy pop culture references after another, this does nothing to show the hardships of teenage pregnancy as well as the reaction to her parents which is basically not believable. Diablo Cody must’ve given a LOT of lap dances for her to win an Oscar. I’m surprised this BS movie got nominated. For it’s Some Ole Bulls**t

I liked the movie a lot, but I kept thinking, "No one actually talks like this." And also my parents would have killed me and my unborn spawn if I had shown up pregnant at 16. Other than that, it was awesome. I do agree with the comment that Michael Cera better find something else to do, because his act is getting a little old. He is still funny, but after three or four more "George Michael" impressions, it's going to be excessive.

What an excellent movie. As well as Little Miss Sunshine in 2006, Juno is the big independent hit of '07, its funny but it also has its dramatic moments, its also full of irony. With a fresh, original and interesting story about a 16 y.o teen who gets pregnant and from that point, she begins to think what to do with the baby she is expecting. The movie has a very good rhythm that makes it enjoyable. The cast is very good, Ellen Page with a terrific performance as Juno, Jason Bateman and Jennifer Gardner are also very good as the couple that are going to adopt Juno's baby and J.K Simmons with a great supporting role as Juno's father. Director Jason Reitman accomplished a excellent work, he gives us a very natural point of view of a pregnant teenager without being corny. People definitely will loved the soundtrack. Every song sets a mood to each scene to the perfection. This is for sure one of the best movies of the year, a very strong candidate for the upcoming Academy Awards.

I liked this movie for the most part. I don't know how much more I can say that someone has already said. Yes the characters were a little unconvincing, sure Michael Cera is a 1 dimensional actor, but still it's worth a watch. Although near the beginning when Ellen Page called her friend and told her she was pregnant, to which her friend replied "Honest to blog?!?" I nearly stood up amongst my friends and the entire movie theatre and yelled "THAT'S NOT HOW PEOPLE TALK YOU STUPID FUCKING WHORE." Curse the myspace age. And yes, the soundtrack was unbearable. Some may like that cutesy-hipster-alternative folk shit, but I don't. Frankly I believe anyone who actually liked the soundtrack needs to have a tire iron lodged into their frontal lobe, but thats just my opinion.

its kind of a genre now isnt it? Garden State, Little Miss Sunshine, this one. when its upbeat, the music is cartoonish, and when its more serious theres whispery folk-pop. i dont mind it, but i dont think its great either. good movie. Oscar-worthy? not at all, i actually thought Thank You For Smoking was better.

It was okay but definitely over-hyped, Ellen Page is good but very unconvincing as a heterosexual teenager she is such a baby dyke,,,she was in Hard Candy and she is in this! A heart warming film but I'd be worried about handing my baby over to an anorexic ocd sufferer, both parents were distinctly unappealing from the word go.

what a bad and over rated movie i couldn't wait for the lead actress to shut the hell up. the only good part of the movie was the father of the annoying pregnant girl. i'll lose all faith in movies if this piece of crap wins anything at the oscars. quit praising this movie it's brutal, i'd rather watch info-mercials.

I did enjoy this movie although I got kinda confused about who we are supposed to hate out of Bateman and Garner. I guess it all depends upon your age at how you relate to the characters but i felt like we were supposed to think of Bateman's character as the good guy but that completely changes in the last 10 min of the movie. I just thought of it as kind of an awkward transition. Also, after the first visit to the store by Juno I was hoping for maybe a couple more trips and a reoccurring part by Rainn Wilson. At least one other trip to the store could have yielded some more laughs.

If only I had the witty dialog of this movie in my everyday vocab. This was a real shocker in the fact that it was a indie movie that was NOT trying too hard. Great performances, great script, and genuine emotion.

Finally... I saw this and I really loved it. It made me feel good when I saw. I like this type of movies if it's done right. I liked the music too, well I listen to this type of music. But, I've seen other movies where the flim is the soundtrack this is not the case. Love it.

Nothing much happens in the movie. No evil characters and the conflicts are shallow. But it is funny and the characters were interesting. The movie is not supposed to be realistic (just like Sideways or Little Miss Sunshine) nor does it pretend to be cinematic, intelligent or profound. But it delivered. It kept you enthused as regards what would happen to the characters, including the baby.

It's kind of funny that this movie is released about the same time that Jamie Spears, who's 16 years of age. announced that she is pregnant.

I can understand about being annouyed by the hipster stuff. (I can't stand it or that horribly overrated Reality Bites movie at all.) But, I'm glad Juno's a good movie, though.

I agree with you guys, this movie was to heavily quirky. I did like it, also because of ellen page performance (and yes she's legal Korey) . Also, i don't see this as "Little Miss Sunshine", i see this as more of mixing "Napoleon Dynamite"+ "Knocked Up" + "Garden State" = "Juno". I just don't like this being seen as an Oscar contender of a movie. I don't see it as Oscar contender. If it was "Hard Candy" then i would literlly say that Ellen Page desserves an oscar nod for this.
