Inspired by author Oliver Sacks' novel The Man Who Mistook his Wife for a Hat, director Froukje Tan's unique tragicomedy tells the story of a man with an unusual handicap, and his ongoing attempts to make sense of a world he has deemed incomprehensible. When a girl who appears to be the spitting image of his ex-girlfriend Stella appears at his workplace, Dexter finds his life quickly beginning to unravel. Unable to focus on his job and placed on an immediate leave of absence by his short tempered boss, the distracted worker heads out for a wild joyride and winds up getting arrested.

Later, as Dexter convalesces in the hospital, he slowly begins to understand the source of his malaise. Whether despite of or because of his handicap, the man who never really understood his own motivations finally begins to make sense of his own, tumultuous inner universe.
