i went to see this movie in the theater. i didn't know about the comic, i didn't know anything about it other than james mc avoy and angelina jolie were in it. i went in after having a bad day. i looved it. the action scenes were silly and crazy. i wouldn't take this movie seriously. i am curious about the comic now.

More or less agree. This film wants so badly to be The Matrix. The whole world they created with the Fraternity is preposterous. Look, I'll buy a lot of goofy premises, but a society of weavers-turned-assassins taking their orders from a sewing machine? Really? Really!? That said, I like James McAvoy and Jolie. They almost made this movie half-decent. Some of the action was fun, too, like the first chase. The bit on the train and the ending was awful, action-wise. The story's twisted itself into oblivion by that point, so it's all just empty FX work.

Cyrus, you're just jealous cuz Angelina Jolie is hotter than you. :-P So the writing sucked and I will rent it, just so I can see Angelina's hot skinny body because that's what matters. Oh and FYI re. "Columbine Kids" references - not to be a critic, but those kids KILLED themselves after shooting and killing a bunch of people, so please find another way to refer to kids going to jail. That shit isn't funny when it is REAL.

This must be what it was like in comics back in the 50's and 60's when marvel could do no wrong. And now it's not just marvel anymore. Comic books on the big screen! This is the time...And I am perfectly happy seeing my local multi-plex resemble more of a Sci-fi Justice league headquarters. There was a time about 10 or so years ago when i didn't like action films very much and catered to theobscure forw\eign film with sub-tits, and quiet quirky, stories, that also supported my interest in the rising star of Tim Burton along with a few others. Then 2008 happened... kicked off the summer with Iron Man and now I'm mapping out every major action movie release on my calendar for the whole year in advance. I think I'll take up residence in a hotel adjacent to the nearest AMC I want more wanted Men of iron Women with gold braclets, lasos, and star spangled underwear Boy's from hell turned good how about thundar the barbarian. There was a time when movies like this littered the cinemas and strange cable syndicates back in the 80's when B-Movies were still locked into B-Movie status holding since the 50's. But now B-Movies have grown up and matured...just like the comics they came from did...

It wasn't a bad movie! i go to each movie with absolutly no expectations. If its based on a comic book why do you want it to be the exact same. Spoils the ending :)

You are the funniest. Although the movie had some VERY slow points, it wasn't THAT bad. I actually enjoyed it - it wasn't worth my $10.50 for the ticket and $10 for some fukin popcorn/drink - but enjoyable. The funniest part was when Morgan Freeman says "shoot this muthafucka" - that was so unexpected. I didn't know there was a comic. And I must say I was totally confused about that damn rejuvenation pool, especially when he kills the rat dude by accident. I was tryin to figure out if they were at the warehouse at the time of the shooting. that shit was random. anyway, i'm off to see hancock. hope i'm not disappointed.

Funny story... A friend of my brothers had a soft-air gun and mimicked the "curving a bullet" which ended in a piece of the weapon being thrown across the room and making a hole in the wall.
